Hello
I need help merging two different accounts. I took a test for the AZ-305 certification and already have the AZ-104 certification, and they ended up on different accounts. I would like to check if there is a way to transfer or merge the profiles or transfer the data from one profile to the other.

The email addresses for the accounts are:
[PII: Removed]@outlook.com
[PII: Removed]@hotmail.com

Microsoft accounts themselves cannot be merged, but Microsoft Learn profiles that hold certification data can be merged, and all certifications (including AZ-104 and AZ-305) will end up under a single Learn profile.

    Key points:

    • Microsoft personal accounts (such as @outlook.com and @hotmail.com) cannot be merged or combined.
    • Microsoft Learn profiles can be merged, and this will merge all learning progress and certification data into one Learn profile.
    • A Learn profile merge cannot be undone.

To merge the certification data into one Learn profile:

    1. Sign in to one of the Learn profiles
      • Go to the Microsoft Learn profile page and sign in using one of the email addresses (for example, the account that currently has AZ-104 or the one that has AZ-305).
    2. Add the other login account to this Learn profile
      • Select the profile icon (top-right) → Settings.
      • Under Account Management, select Add login account.
      • Sign in with the other email address (the second account that holds the other certification).
    3. Trigger the profile merge
      • If the login account being added is already associated with a different Learn profile, adding it will trigger a Learn Profile Merge.
      • When the merge completes:
        • All learning progress and certifications from both profiles will be combined into a single Learn profile.
        • Both login accounts can still be used to sign in to that one merged profile.
        • Duplicate items are removed automatically.
    4. Verify certifications
      • After the merge, open the merged Learn profile.
      • Go to Credentials → Certifications and confirm that both AZ-104 and AZ-305 appear under the same profile.

    Important conditions and notes:

    • Only one personal Microsoft login account is allowed per Learn profile. If both profiles are using personal accounts, the merge is only allowed when at most one of them is a personal login account on the resulting profile.
    • If more than five work/school login accounts would exist on the merged profile, the merge will be canceled and must be retried after reducing linked accounts.
    • Once merged, the data cannot be separated again.

If a direct merge between the two personal accounts is not possible (for example, both are personal accounts and there is no work/school account to use as a bridge), certifications cannot be moved between Microsoft accounts themselves. In that case, continue using the Learn profile that contains the certifications for future exams.
