You need to do an Online repair if Repair Now does not help.

There are two types offered: Quick, and Online.

    Use the online repair.

If this is a perpetual license product (one with a year name) make sure it is connected to your Microsoft Account on the subscriptions page under purchases. It will be for recent versions but Office versions before Office 2016 likely will not be. If your license is not connected to your account, you need your original installation media and product key.

    Hello @Okeke Rejoice

This is a difficult situation for you, and I will try to provide some questions and guidance along the way to help you check this issue:

1/ Have you checked to access this app via the web version?

Please try to click on these links.

    https://powerpoint.cloud.microsoft/

    https://word.cloud.microsoft/

    https://excel.cloud.microsoft/

2/ How long has this issue happened for you? Was it opening normally before?

3/ Could you provide me the full error message or the screenshots so I can address this issue better?

    User's image

4/ You cannot open the app on both desktop and mobile, right? Please double check whether they have the same error or not.

5/ Is there anyone in the same organization (ex: your friend in school/university) who is facing the same issue? This is to check whether the problem is happening on a wider scale.

Besides, you can try to open this app via safe mode to see if this issue still continues.

Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC - Microsoft Support

If it only asks you for repair options, you can click "Repair**"** to see if it helps, or you can refer to this article for an Online Repair for your Office:

If you still need my assistance, please come back with screenshots or any additional details so I can review it again and see if there’s anything more I can help you with.

    Have a nice day!

The issue is a corrupted or damaged Microsoft 365/Office installation that affects all apps (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). The built‑in “Repair now” inside the error dialog is a quick repair and often does not fully fix deeper problems.

Follow these steps on Windows to fix it:

    1. Close all Office apps
      • Make sure Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. are all closed.
    2. Run an Online Repair of Office
      • Open Settings (gear icon on Start menu).
      • Go to AppsInstalled apps (or Apps & features on some versions).
      • Find Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office in the list.
      • Select it → choose Modify.
      • Select Online Repair and confirm.
      • Let the repair run to completion (it can take 15–30 minutes). Do not cancel it.
      • When it finishes, restart the computer.
    3. Test the apps
      • After restart, open Word first and check if it opens normally.
      • Then try Excel and PowerPoint.

If the problem continues after Online Repair, completely uninstall Office from Settings → Apps → Installed apps, restart the PC, then reinstall Office from the Microsoft account services page associated with the subscription.

If the apps crash specifically when opening or saving cloud documents and the device is on Office Version 2205, update Office to the latest version:

    1. Open any Office app that will start.
    2. Go to File → Account → Update Options → Update Now.
    3. Install the latest updates and restart the app.
