    Hi @Kathleen Coon,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I would like to provide you with the following information:

I understand that you have recently changed your credit card, which is why you are currently unable to make a payment for the subscription in your tenant.

Please follow the steps below to add a new payment method and complete the payment for your subscription:

Step 1: Sign in to admin.microsoft.com using a Global Admin account

Step 2: Go to Billing > Payment methods

    User's image

Step 3: Enter your new credit card information

After adding the new payment method, the system will not automatically use it to pay for the existing subscription. Instead, you need to assign this payment method to the subscription to allow the system to renew it automatically.

Step 4: Go to Billing > Bills & payments > Payment methods

    User's image

Step 5: Click the three dots (⋯) and change the payment method for your subscription

After that, please proceed with renewing the subscription:

Step 1: Go to Billing > Your products > click on your subscription

Step 2: Complete the payment for the subscription

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

To renew the subscription after the credit card was replaced, first ensure the subscription is still active or can be brought current, then update the payment method and pay any past-due balance.

    1. Confirm subscription status
      • Go to the Services & subscriptions page at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
      • Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with the Microsoft 365 subscription.
      • Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and check whether it shows Past due, Expired, or Suspended.
    2. Pay any past-due amount
      • On the same Services & subscriptions page, if the subscription shows Past due, select Pay now next to it.
      • Follow the prompts to complete payment. This will reactivate the subscription if payment is successful.
    3. Update or add the new credit card
      • Still signed in, go to the Payment options page at https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments (or use the payment method link shown during the Pay now flow).
      • If the old card is still listed and only the expiry changed, update its details (expiration date, etc.).
      • If the card number changed (lost/stolen/replaced), add a new payment method instead of editing the old one.
      • Make sure the new card is selected as the payment method for the subscription when completing the Pay now step.
    4. If payment is blocked or declined
      • Verify the card details (number, expiration date, name, billing address) match the bank statement exactly.
      • Confirm with the bank that:
        • The card is active.
        • There are sufficient funds.
        • Online/recurring/international transactions are allowed.
      • If the card continues to be declined, use another card and then work with the bank to resolve the issue.
    5. If the subscription still appears disabled after updating the card
      • This usually indicates an outstanding balance. Ensure the Pay now step is completed and the past-due amount is fully paid.

If the charges or subscription state still look incorrect after these steps, contact Microsoft Billing Support from the Microsoft 365 admin or account portal so they can securely review and adjust the billing.
