Unfortunately this is a Microsoft bug. There is nothing you can do from your Outlook Client to fix it. All that any of us can do (myself included) is wait for Microsoft to fix it and goose them along by reporting it using the In-App Help > Send feedback.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5837171/contacts-in-outlook-365

This is an issue from Microsoft's end I am afraid - there are a lot of reports on this issue. Please take a moment to report this. Click Help > Send feedback in the New Outlook and let the Team know, so that they can quickly fix the issue

As you can possibly see, I am using a btinternet.com email address and using the free Outlook. I have tried these steps without success. All I get in the right hand panel is "This doesnt seem correct" - Try Again. The adressess are still there, but hidden. I can start to type an address into an outgoing email and it comes up with the full address after a couple of strokes

    Hi Karl,

    Sometimes clearing cache helps.

Press Windows + R, type %localappdata%\Microsoft, and press Enter.

Delete the Olk and OneAuth folders.

    Restart Outlook.

This only removes temporary Outlook data that will be recreated automatically. Please try opening contacts.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

In new Outlook for Windows, contacts are managed and displayed through the People view, and the current filter or sort setting can make it look like the All contacts list has disappeared when it is only hidden or narrowed.

To bring back the full All Contacts list in new Outlook:

    1. Open People view
      • Use the navigation bar and select People.
    2. Confirm the scope is All contacts
      • In the left pane, ensure All contacts is selected (not a smaller subset such as a specific folder or list).
    3. Reset sort/filter
      • At the top of the contact list, select the current filter label (for example, it may show By first name, By last name, or another sort option).
      • In the Sort by menu, pick a standard option such as By first name or By last name.
      • The list should refresh immediately and show all contacts within the selected scope.

If the All Contacts view is still blank after these steps, check the same account in another Outlook experience (such as Outlook on the web or classic Outlook) to confirm that contacts are present in the mailbox and that the correct account is selected under People.
