Hi jip mulder,
I understand why this is confusing, especially after hearing back from WinZip support. The key point to clear up first is that there is no license key to obtain when WinZip Pro is purchased from the Microsoft Store:
- It is digitally tied to the Microsoft account used at purchase.
- Automatically activate when you install the app while signed in with that same account.
Because of that, even if you contact Microsoft Support, they cannot give you a license key. They can only verify that the purchase is correctly linked to your account. In addition to what Q&A Assist already suggested, here’s some other things to check:
1 - Microsoft Store Library:
- Open Microsoft Store > Make sure you're signed in with the account used to buy WinZip Pro
- Click your profile picture > Library > Find WinZip Pro > click Install
- Launch WinZip Pro after installation.
2 - If WinZip installs but shows as Trial or Free
- In Microsoft Store > click your Profile > Sign out
- Restart the PC > Sign back in and open WinZip again.
WinZip Support cannot see Microsoft Store licenses, and that’s normal as store‑managed apps are activated entirely by Microsoft. If after reinstalling from the Store it still prompts for a key, then it’s almost always the wrong edition being installed.
