Hello,

Our company received money in our bank account from Microsoft. We don't have a Microsoft account, as we get it through our IT service. So I don't know what this money is for. Please help me with how to get this information. Thank you

    Hi @Laura Keith,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your question about the payment received from Microsoft.

Based on my research, such payments are most commonly associated with a refund, billing adjustment, or account credit. These may occur following a subscription cancellation, service change, billing correction, or other account‑level review conducted by Microsoft’s billing systems.

As your organization’s Microsoft services are managed through an external IT service provider, the relevant billing and account details are likely held within the tenant they administer on your behalf. For this reason, the most appropriate next step would be to contact your IT service provider so they can review the Microsoft billing records and confirm the exact reason for the payment.

If there is an individual within your organization who holds an administrative role (such as a Global Administrator or Billing Administrator), you may also contact them directly and request that they submit a support request to Microsoft’s Billing team on your behalf. The Billing team is the appropriate team to review billing records and provide clarification regarding payments, refunds, or account‑level adjustments related to this matter.

For guidance on how to request support, you can share the following guidance with your admin: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin.

I hope this information is useful. Thank you for taking the time to raise this question. If you need any further clarification or assistance, please feel free to leave a comment under this post.
