How do I fix missing "Integrated Monitor" after my screen went black?

This morning, my laptop screen would not turn on.
My laptop does work when connected to an external monitor.
When I go to device manager, the only display showing is the Generic Display. The integrated monitor is gone.
How do I reinstall the integrated monitor?

2026-03-24T19:06:40.0066667+00:00 When I restart the laptop on its own- the laptop monitor itself is black. The auxillary monitor works fine so all the start up processes are running and displaying on the attached monitor.

It looks like KB5079473 installed Mar 11.
There was an update today KB5085516. I am unsure if that was automatic or I pushed that update to try to fix my display issue. But KB5085516 is the current update. -

Can you access the BIOS on the laptop screen instead of the externally connected screen?
If possible, could you test it?

2026-03-24T19:33:49.84+00:00 Im not sure how or why, but as mysteriously as the screen went black- its back on. The dreaded vertical bars are there. I think the screen may just be old and in need of replacing.
