I was Copilot Certified at my previous company. Is it transferrable?

The company I worked for before paid for my Copilot certification. The company email was ******@prometric.com. Is there a way to transfer that certification to my new company?

Certifications and exam history are tied to the personal Microsoft Learn profile and associated sign-in accounts, not to a specific employer. When employment changes, certification can be consolidated under a preferred account by linking profiles, as long as there is access to the accounts involved.

To move certification history that was earned under a previous company account to a new primary account, use the multi-profile linking approach described in the referenced guidance:

1. Sign in to the existing Learn profile that currently holds the Copilot certification (Profile A – the one associated with the old company email, if still accessible) and identify which work/school and personal accounts are linked.
2. Use an active work/school Learn profile as a bridge (Profile B):
   • Sign in with the work/school account (Profile B).
   • From Profile B, add/link the personal or other profile (Profile A) that contains the certification. This migrates certification and training progress from A to B. Wait for the confirmation banner.
   • After the transfer completes, remove Profile A from Profile B (Settings → Login account Management → Linked accounts → Remove). The content transfer remains.
3. Sign in to the new preferred Learn profile (Profile C – associated with the new company or personal account to be used going forward).
   • From Profile C, add/link Profile B. This transfers the certification and training progress from B to C.
   • Optionally, remove the work/school profile if no longer needed.

Important constraints:

• Access to the old work/school or bridge Learn profile is required. If there is no access to a work/school Learn profile to use as a bridge, the transfer cannot be completed using this method.
• If the old company has disabled or removed the account and it cannot be used to sign in to the Learn profile, the certification may remain associated with that profile.

Once transferred, the Copilot certification remains valid and associated with the consolidated Learn profile, independent of the employer that originally paid for the exam.
