The error message indicates that Word and Excel are unable to start correctly. Use the following steps in order:

    1. Run an Online Repair of Microsoft 365/Office
      1. Close all Office apps.
      2. Open the Windows Settings app.
      3. Go to Apps > Apps & features (or Installed apps).
      4. Find the Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 installation in the list.
      5. Select it and choose Modify.
      6. Choose Online Repair (this is more thorough than Quick Repair) and run it.
      7. When the repair completes, restart the computer and try opening Word and Excel again.
If the in‑app “Repair now” prompt appears and does not fix the issue, the full Online Repair from Settings is the recommended next step.
    2. If Online Repair does not fix it
      1. Uninstall Office from Settings > Apps.
      2. Restart the PC (use Restart, not Shut down).
      3. Reinstall Office from the Microsoft account services page where the subscription or license is associated.
    3. If the problem started after upgrading to Windows 10 and Office 2013 is installed
      1. Open any Office 2013 app (if possible).
      2. Select File > Account (or Office Account in Outlook).
      3. Under Product Information, select Update Options > Update Now.
      4. If Update Now is not visible, select Update Options > Enable Updates, then select Update Options > Update Now.

If Word or Excel still will not open after these steps, repeat the Online Repair and, if necessary, perform the uninstall/reinstall sequence again to ensure all corrupted components are removed.

Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

Kindly follow the steps provided by Q&A Assist. If the issue persists, I recommend reinstalling Office from the Control Panel:

Press the Windows key + R, then type in:

    appwiz.cpl

    Then hit OK

Look for the Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 app > Right-click, then select Uninstall

Follow the prompts to uninstall your Office app.

Then reinstall your Office app by following the steps from the link below:
