When I open my google chrome, it opens in mathmaticalm.com. I cannot delete it or go to the home button, which just takes me back to the mathmaticalm site. How do I get rid of this site?

    Hello Charles Edmister,

It looks like mathematicalm.com has hijacked your Chrome browser settings — this is an adware/browser hijacker behavior. Since this is specific to Google Chrome, I'd recommend reaching out to Chrome Support at support.google.com/chrome for dedicated help.

That said, running a Windows Security scan in the meantime is a good idea to rule out any underlying malware on your system: Start > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Quick scan.

mathematicalm.com is acting as an unwanted start/home page in Google Chrome. Remove it by resetting Chrome’s homepage/startup settings and checking for anything that forces that page to load.

Follow these steps in Chrome on Windows 10:

    1. Remove it as the startup page
      1. Open Chrome.
      2. Select the three vertical dots (⋮) in the top-right corner > Settings.
      3. In the left pane, select On startup.
      4. If Open a specific page or set of pages is selected, remove any entry that shows mathematicalm.com (click the three dots next to it > Remove).
      5. Optionally set Open the New Tab page instead.
    2. Fix the Home button
      1. In Settings, go to Appearance.
      2. Turn Show home button on.
      3. If Enter custom web address is selected and shows mathematicalm.com, change it to the desired site or select New Tab page.
    3. Check Chrome’s “Set the home page” policy (if managed) If this is a work/school PC, a policy might be forcing the homepage:
      1. In Chrome’s address bar, type chrome://policy and press Enter.
      2. Look for any policy like HomepageLocation, RestoreOnStartupURLs, or similar pointing to mathematicalm.com.
      3. If such a policy exists, it is being pushed by Group Policy or management software. In that case, contact the administrator to remove or change it.
    4. Remove suspicious extensions
      1. In Chrome, select the three dots (⋮) > Extensions > Manage extensions.
      2. Remove or disable any unfamiliar or recently added extensions.
      3. Restart Chrome and confirm that mathematicalm.com no longer appears.
    5. Run a malware scan Because hijacked home pages are often caused by adware:
      1. Open Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
      2. Select Scan options > Full scan and let it complete.

If the browser still always opens mathematicalm.com after these steps, reset Chrome settings (Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their original defaults), then repeat steps 1–2 to set the desired homepage.
