Hi, I have a problem. I requested a free Azure tenant, It’s been two days. I added a custom domain, but it won’t let me activate the P2 or Microsoft 365 E3 trial. When I try to click “Try,” the button is grayed out and I can’t click it. What can I do? I need to practice for the SC-300 certification. The linked domain is the one I’m using to write this. Please help.

    Hi @Eduardo Sepulveda

The grayed-out 'Try' button is a common hurdle. Microsoft has recently increased security validation for new tenants to prevent fraud. Often, a brand-new, unverified 'Free' tenant won't let you activate high-level trials like Entra ID P2 immediately.

Here are some things to try:

Option 1: The M365 Developer Program (Best for SC-300). Instead of fighting with the Azure Trial, go to the Microsoft 365 Developer Center. You can get a free E5 sandbox tenant that includes Entra ID P2 by default. No credit card is required, and it's renewable as long as you use it for 'dev' (study) purposes.

Option 2: Use the Entra Admin Center. Sometimes the Azure Portal has caching issues. Try performing the activation directly at https://entra.microsoft.com.

Option 3: Add a Payment Method. Even for a free trial, Microsoft often requires a valid credit card on the 'Billing' profile of the tenant to 'unlock' the trial buttons. This verifies you are a real person.

If this helped, go ahead and mark it as accepted saves the next person a lot of digging 🙌
