The morph function is suddenly not working correctly. For instance, when I morph from one part of an image to another, the entire image distorts then repaints.

There is no setting to force Morph to treat cropped images as the same object.

When you change the crop, PowerPoint may treat it as a new object, so Morph fails. To keep Morph working, keep the same image unchanged, or use shapes to hide parts while resizing or moving the image.

Morph now relies more strictly on object identity, and crop edits can cause PowerPoint to treat the image as a different object, especially after save or reopen. This helps improve consistency and performance, but it means crop-based Morph is less reliable. Existing slides are not deleted or blocked, but some transitions may fall back to fade or distort. To keep results stable, keep the same object unchanged across slides, or reapply Morph after updates where needed.

Recent updates changed how Morph detects objects, and crop changes are now treated as different objects in some cases, so Morph falls back to fade or distortion. Existing presentations are not permanently broken, but slides that rely on crop-based Morph may not animate the same and need adjustment. To keep them working, use identical objects across slides, avoid changing crop, and reapply Morph where needed.

Avoid Crop for zoom. Duplicate the slide and resize the same image from the corners. Check Selection Pane and keep the same object name on both slides, then reapply Morph. This lets PowerPoint track the object correctly and fixes the distortion.

Hello, I understand Morph is distorting after the update. Does this happen on all slides or only specific ones?

Check the Selection Pane on both slides and make sure the same object is used and has the same name. Avoid heavy cropping, use duplicate images resized instead. Morph works only when it detects the same object, otherwise it distorts or fades. This usually fixes existing slides without rebuilding them.
