    Hi,

Unfortunately, the 30-day waiting period cannot be shortened or bypassed.

When security information is changed or updated, Microsoft enforces this waiting period to help protect your account. During this time, certain sign-in actions, especially those requiring verification codes, may be restricted until the changes are fully applied.

If you’re unable to access your PC because of this, your only option may be to reset your computer or perform a clean installation of Windows. Please note that this process can result in data loss.

The 30-day wait cannot be bypassed if all security info on the Microsoft account was removed and replaced. This restriction is by design to protect the account in case the changes were made by someone with unauthorized access.

    During this 30-day pending period:

    • The account stays in a restricted state.
    • Most Microsoft services can still be accessed (Xbox, Skype, Outlook.com, OneDrive, etc.), but sensitive actions and areas are blocked.
    • If two-factor verification was turned on, there is no access to the listed services or sensitive pages until the 30 days are over or the request is canceled.

If the security info changes were made personally and access is still available to the original security info (old email or phone), check those notifications to see if there is an option to cancel the security info change request. If cancellation is possible and completed, normal access can be restored without waiting the full 30 days.

If the changes were not made personally and the account may be compromised, follow the guidance in the hacked/compromised account article once access is available again.

If none of the above applies and cancellation is not possible, the only option is to wait for the 30-day period to end.
