I have been charged twice for Microsoft 365 Family On February 3, 2026 and on February 5, 2026. I am inquiring about a refund for one of the charges that have appeared on credit card statement.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

If the second subscription charge came from a different Microsoft account, kindly follow the guide on the official Microsoft website to investigate and locate the duplicate charge from Microsoft on this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93

If you're able to find the transaction and if this happens to be a forgotten subscription renewal, you can check if it is eligible for a refund through this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription-67dca30b-b323-44d5-acc2-e02f9902c472

You may also try contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance in tracking the transaction:

    https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=S.HP.SmcContactUsLanding

Type "Billing Issue" > click "Get Help" > Scroll down to Sign in to Contact Support > Microsoft 365 and Office > Billing and Payment Updates > Confirm > Chat with a support agent in your web browser

If you and the Support Team are unable to find the transaction in all of your accounts, you'll need to contact your financial institution/bank directly to dispute it, and they may process a refund, as this would be considered a fraudulent charge.

You may also need to have your card blocked and request a new one.

Thank you for your understanding! Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

The two charges on February 3 and February 5 can happen for a few common reasons, and there are clear steps to verify and then request a refund if appropriate.

    1. Check if both charges are actually duplicates
      1. Go to your Microsoft account order history and sign in with the account used for Microsoft 365 Family: Review your order history.
      2. Look for Microsoft 365 Family charges around February 3–5, 2026.
      3. If you see:
        • Only one Microsoft 365 Family charge in that period: the second charge on your card may be due to:
          • A previous “late” payment being retried close to the regular renewal date, or
          • Another Microsoft account (for example, a family member) using the same card.
        • Two separate Microsoft 365 Family transactions: confirm if one was an intentional extra period (for example, buying additional subscription time) or if it is truly a duplicate.
    2. Check for multiple Microsoft accounts using the same card
      1. In your Microsoft account, go to Payment options: Go to payment options.
      2. Select Investigate to search for other accounts using your card.
      3. If another family member’s account is using the same card for Microsoft 365 Family, that could explain the second charge.
    3. If it is a duplicate charge for the same order
      • If you confirm that you were charged more than once for the same order, have your Microsoft account details and order number ready and contact Microsoft Store Support to resolve the duplicate billing and request a refund: contact Microsoft Store Support.
    4. If one of the charges is for a separate subscription you want to cancel and refund
      1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the account that owns the Microsoft 365 Family subscription.
      2. Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
      3. Select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the steps. This will both stop future renewals and, depending on your region and timing, may make the subscription eligible for a refund.
      4. For Microsoft 365 subscriptions, cancel first to check refund eligibility as described here: How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription – Microsoft 365.

If, after these checks, there is still an unexplained duplicate charge, contact Microsoft Billing/Store Support with your order numbers and card statement so they can investigate and process a refund where applicable.
