Microsoft account stolen

Question

Hi,

I have few microsoft accounts. One of them was link to my email and I used it in playing Minecrafe BedRock Edition, Windows Store where I purchased it, did several in-game purchases (last one in 2024), had it in MS Authenticator and also used in Phone link on 2 devices.

Few days ago I noticed that my Phone Link at work was logged out, I tried to log-in, with my email displayed and then got the message that confirmation code would be sent to an email from Romanian domain which is not my email.
When I tried to login to my MS account using that email got a message that account could not be found so I guess whoever hacked it changed the email so login alias I used was gone.
I did not had any phone verfied on it.

Account was still listed in my authenticator though but when tried changing password through it also got that foreign email as a verificationmethod.

I tried contacting Minecraft Support, and also Microsoft support.
I tried filling account recovery form but was denied two times. Cards I used for purchases are expired and I dont have them anymore.
MS support virtual agent is completely useless, I sent a ticket somewhere on microsoft support and got an message that it could take 24-48h for a response.. which never came.

After that I changed all my passwords, removed that old ms account from any services which were using it, and then created new ms account (this one) with the same email.

Every single microsoft form for this is asking me to give them email account I use for login, but since it was changed I got an message that it could not be found, and now its pointless since I have a new account.
I did not find any method or place where I could present purchase details.
And what is frustrating, I have no idea how this happens. I dont visit troublesome sites, never give my info to anyone, and I had the account using Authenticator and would never approve any request I did not start. So that securrity optionis completely useless.

Is there anything i could do with this? As for windows store purchaces only proof I have are the purchase comfirmation emails and listing on my bank account.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

Since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.
