Unable to renew my Microsoft certification

Hi to all,

Good day.

I would like to seek support regarding my issue with my renewal certification for Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate. I already received an auto-email coming from the [microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com] that I can now renew my certificate including the direct link. See image below.

In the direct link, I was not able to click the "Take the renewal assessment" button and a pop-up message showing that I need to earn the certificate again as shown in the image below.

I have completed all the self-direct learning. See sample screenshot below.

I really need your help on this because I only have until May 9, 2026 (UTC) to pass the renewal assessment.

The renewal assessment can only be taken if the certification is currently active and correctly associated with the signed-in Learn profile. Completing the learning paths alone does not make the renewal button available.

From the renewal policy:

• Role-based and specialty certifications expire after one year.
• The only way to renew is to pass the free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn.
• Renewal is available only in the six months before the certification’s expiration date; once a certification expires, it cannot be renewed and must be earned again by passing the required exam(s).

Because the page shows the message “You’ll need to earn this certification before you’re eligible to renew it,” the Learn profile being used either does not currently hold an active “Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate” certification, or the certification on that profile is already expired. In that situation the renewal assessment cannot be started, even if an email link was received.

Recommended actions:

1. Verify that the correct Learn profile is being used and that the certification appears as active:
   • Sign in to Microsoft Learn.
   • Open the profile and go to the Certifications section.
   • Confirm that “Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate” is listed and not marked as expired.
2. If the certification is missing, follow the guidance for missing certifications (check other possible accounts and profiles, including work/school vs. personal accounts).
3. If the certification shows as expired, it cannot be renewed; the PL-300 (or current replacement) exam must be passed again to re-earn the certification.
4. If the certification shows as active but the renewal button is still unavailable, contact Microsoft Credentials Support so the certification and renewal eligibility can be checked for the correct profile.
