    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Can I validate what operating system do you have (based from the selection, it is Win11). Is this a fresh install or reinstallation of snipping tool?

While checking other details, is it possible that you can test your device by using the shortcut method by pressing:

    Windows + Shift + S

Follow these steps to get Snipping Tool installed and past the “checking system requirements” stage:

    1. Verify Windows version
      • Snipping Tool requires a supported version of Windows 10/11. Make sure Windows is fully updated and that the device is not running an unsupported OS such as Windows XP or Vista, which cannot install modern apps.
    2. Repair or reset Microsoft Store
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
      • A blank Command Prompt window opens and closes after about 10 seconds, then Microsoft Store opens automatically.
      • Try installing or updating Snipping Tool again from Microsoft Store.
    3. Check Microsoft Store Install Service
      • Press Windows key + S, type services.msc, and press Enter.
      • Find Microsoft Store Install Service.
      • If Status is Running, right‑click and select Restart.
      • If it is Disabled, set Startup type to Automatic, click Start, then OK.
      • Retry the Snipping Tool install.
    4. Reinstall Snipping Tool using the standalone installer If Store-based install still hangs, uninstall Snipping Tool (if present) and reinstall using the official installer:
      • Download the correct Snipping Tool installer for the device:
        • Snipping Tool Windows 64-bit (most common)
        • Snipping Tool Windows 32-bit
        • Snipping Tool Windows ARM64
      • Open the downloaded .exe file and follow the setup workflow until it completes.

If installation still does not proceed after these steps, check for pending Windows updates and restart the PC before trying again.
