Suspicous pop up scams

When I open up my emails I receive a pop up from Microsoft stating that my computer is locked due to suspicious activity. I use End Task to remove all the pop ups and I do not press on any of them. Nor do I call. How do I stop these from appearing in my email and computer?

    Hi Veronica,

Thanks for posting your question here. I understand your concern about the pop up whenever you open emails. You did the right thing by not clicking anything.

Please do this to stop these from appearing:

    1. Block browser notifications – In your browser (Edge/Chrome), go to Settings, select Notifications and remove any unfamiliar websites or turn notifications off.
    2. Mark the email as Phishing/Spam – Don’t open links or attachments.
    3. Run a full scan with Microsoft Defender (Windows Security) to make sure nothing slipped in.
    4. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then restart the browser.

Let me know if you have more question, I'm here to assist.

    Thanks,

    Jobelle C.
