Edge is a free browser, it does not require a subscription, that subscription may be for the Microsoft 365 version of the Office apps.

    1

Try using the steps provided on this link to check your eligibility for a refund and to cancel that subscription.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/cancel-a-microsoft-365-subscription-46e2634c-c64b-4c65-94b9-2cc9c960e91b

If you are unable to find the subscription, try using the steps they provide on this link to find out what that payment was for.

Then use the steps they provide on this link to cancel whatever that payment was for and get a refund.

If you are still unable to resolve that payment problem, this forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option

The charges described are almost certainly from a Microsoft subscription with recurring billing turned on. To stop future charges and try to get money back, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account dashboard and sign in with the account that was used on the Dell laptop.
    2. Open the Services & subscriptions section and look for any active subscriptions around $12/month (for example, Microsoft 365 or similar).
    3. Turn off recurring billing or cancel the subscription using the Cancel subscription or Turn off recurring billing options linked from the Microsoft account help pages:

To understand exactly what the past charges were for and support any refund request:

    1. Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate next to the unrecognized charge. This tool walks through the most common causes (recurring subscription, family member purchase, retry of a declined charge, pre-order, or in-app purchase) and helps identify the specific product.
    2. If the charge is not recognized after using Investigate, follow the guidance in the same article to continue troubleshooting.

To request money back (where eligible):

    1. After identifying the subscription or purchase, use the refund process for Microsoft Store purchases as described in the refund article. Digital goods like apps, games, add-ons, and subscriptions are only refundable if the offer or applicable law allows it, so eligibility depends on the specific purchase and timing.
    2. If the charges are for Xbox or digital games, use the Xbox refund process referenced in the refund article.

If there is concern that the account or card was used without permission (for example, account compromise or fraud):

    1. Immediately review all recent purchases in the Microsoft account dashboard.
    2. Change the Microsoft account password and review security info using the How to keep your account safe and secure guidance.
    3. If the card itself may be compromised, contact the bank or card issuer to report unauthorized charges and follow their fraud/chargeback process.

If the subscription cannot be canceled or refunded through self-service and the charges still appear incorrect after using Investigate, contact Microsoft support via the account/billing help pages and provide:

    • The Microsoft account used
    • Dates and amounts of the charges
    • Screenshots of the bank/credit card statement (with sensitive data hidden)

The bank or card issuer can also assist with a chargeback if the charges qualify as unauthorized under their rules.
