I am trying to claim my microsoft points for a simple Doordash giftcard and it is not allowing me to do this. It is giving me a 404 error and shows a long string on numbers and letters. Is there nay other way I can claim my points?

A 404 or similar technical error during Microsoft Rewards redemption usually means the redemption flow is failing, not that the points cannot be used at all. The documented steps to resolve general redemption issues are:

    1. Make sure the account and region are valid
      • Rewards must be redeemed in the same region where the Microsoft account is registered.
      • Do not use a VPN or proxy while redeeming; this can cause errors and is against program policy.
      • Ensure Microsoft Rewards is available in the current country/region.
    2. Check phone/SMS verification requirements
      • A valid mobile or landline number (not VoIP) is required for some redemptions.
      • If SMS verification is requested, confirm the code exactly as sent. Too many failed attempts can force a 48‑hour wait before trying again.
      • If the phone number has already been used on multiple Rewards accounts (limit is 6 per household), use a different number.
    3. Try a different environment
      • Switch browser (for example, Edge ↔ Chrome) or device.
      • Try a different network (for example, a different Wi‑Fi or a mobile hotspot). Similar issues have been resolved by redeeming from a different network environment.
    4. Confirm the reward is currently available
      • Some gift cards are not always available. If the Doordash card is temporarily unavailable or removed, it will not redeem; check the Redeem page again later for availability.
    5. If points were deducted but no code was delivered
      • Go to Rewards Order History and open Order Details for the Doordash reward to see if a code or link was generated.
      • Use Resend in Order History if a confirmation email or code needs to be sent again.
    6. If the 404 error persists
      • This likely requires direct investigation by the Rewards team. Use the Microsoft Rewards support channel to report that the Doordash redemption link is returning 404 with the long error string, and ask them to either complete the redemption or refund the points so the reward can be redeemed again.

    Hi Yashasvi,

Thank you for posting your question here at Microsoft Q&A. I understand you are having an error when claiming your Microsoft Rewards. Let me assist you on this.

A 404 error when redeeming Microsoft Rewards usually means the redemption page itself is failing, not your points. The quickest fixes are trying a different browser or device, switching networks, or making sure you're not using a VPN. The method that works for most people is redeeming through the Microsoft Start mobile app, which has successfully bypassed the 404 for others with the same issue. If the DoorDash card is temporarily unavailable, it may also fail to load, so check the catalog again later.

If nothing of that works, I highly suggest submitting a ticket through Microsoft Rewards Support so they can assist you further.

Let me know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Angelique P.
