No Signature in web-based Outlook

Hello - I finally needed to switch from the old Outlook to the new, web-based Outlook. My underlying email is Gmail. I cannot get a signature to appear in my new messages or my replies. What the system allowed me to do was File -> Settings -> Account -> Signatures. I created a new signature (which is very simplistic because it did not permit more than one line of info and also did not allow changes in font or color, then I checked to have it default on new emails and replies. I can see that there is a signature in existence. It does not automatically populate in either new or reply emails. I have tried writing a new email then switching to the insert tab and clicking signature. It looks like a blank line gets inserted, but it is blank. Some of the forums indicate that you need to go File -> Settings -> Mail -> compose and reply and then check a box in there to insert signatures automatically, but I cannot find a question about signatures in that area. As a trouble shooting step I logged out of Office 365, closed down Outlook, rebooted and logged back in and still nothing. Can anyone help me please?

Thank you!

    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

What you are experiencing is a known limitation of the new web-based version of Outlook, specifically when a Gmail account is being used. The signature that you have set up in Settings > Account > Signatures will not automatically apply to a new or reply messages.

First, you can check the correct signature settings in new Outlook (Web)

    1. Open Outlook on the web.
    2. Click Settings → View all Outlook settings.
    3. Go to Mail → Compose and reply.
    4. Make sure:
      1. Your signature is pasted in the Email signature box.
      2. Check “Automatically include my signature on new messages I compose”.
      3. Check “Automatically include my signature on messages I forward or reply to”.

Reminder: In the new Outlook interface, Account → Signatures only stores the signature but doesn’t always show to new/reply emails.

These are the steps I have already followed, including deleting the signatures I created and starting over, and it did not work.
