    Hello Dennis Westgate,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Before we proceed further, may I know if you have checked the AI assistant reply yet? If you did, please let me know how it goes.

Additionally, may I know if you encounter any other issue with other games? It'd be best if it is a fame from the same Halo franchises.

    I'm waiting for your reply.

The error usually means the installed game files or the Microsoft Store/Xbox services are not in a state that Easy Anti-Cheat recognizes. Use these steps in order:

    1. Restart the PC after any recent Windows Updates
      • If Windows recently updated and the PC was not restarted, this can prevent Store games from working correctly. Restart once, then try launching Halo Infinite again.
    2. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
      • A blank Command Prompt opens and closes; Microsoft Store then opens automatically.
      • Try launching Halo Infinite again from the Store or Xbox app.
    3. Check that the PC and account are allowed to use Store apps
      • Make sure the same Microsoft account used to purchase Halo Infinite is signed in to Windows and Microsoft Store.
      • Confirm the device is added to the Microsoft account (see Add a device to your Microsoft account/Manage your devices for Microsoft Store in the referenced articles) so Store licenses and game services can validate correctly.
    4. Repair/reset Halo Infinite and Gaming Services
      • Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Find Halo Infinite and Gaming Services.
      • For each, open Advanced options and choose Repair. If the issue persists, choose Reset (this may re-download some data).
      • Try launching the game again.
    5. Reinstall the game from Library
      • In Microsoft Store, select More info (next to the profile picture) > My Library.
      • Locate Halo Infinite and select Install to reinstall cleanly.
    6. Verify compatibility and region
      • Ensure Windows is fully updated (Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates).
      • Confirm the game is installed on a supported device and that the Store region matches the account’s region; incompatible or region-mismatched installs can prevent Store games from launching.

If the problem continues after these steps, completely uninstall Halo Infinite and all Xbox-related apps (including Gaming Services), restart, then reinstall the Microsoft Store/Xbox apps and Halo Infinite from My Library so the anti-cheat can detect a clean, current game client.
