classic outlook had a function to allow automatic delay when sending an email, does the new outlook have that

Classic Outlook had a function to allow automatic delay when sending an email. Does the new Outlook have that? I can't find it.

I would happily stick with the classic Outlook but it now has a dumb, nearly unreadable font for the reading pane of messages, and I don't think I can change that.

I would either like to get the rule-based "delay all emails" function added to the new Outlook or be able to change the font in the reading pane of the classic Outlook.

Any help is appreciated.

    Hi @Morgan Sullivan

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I completely understand why having a global “delay all outgoing emails” rule is important it’s a very practical safety net that helps catch mistakes right after clicking Send.

At this time, the new Outlook for Windows does not support a rule that delays or defers all outgoing messages in the same way Classic Outlook does. Unfortunately, Microsoft has also not shared an official timeline or roadmap confirming if or when this specific rule based feature will be added.

However, there are a couple of partial alternatives available:

Schedule send (per email):  When composing an email, select the dropdown arrow next to Send and choose Schedule send to select a specific delivery time.

You could refer to this article for a better view : Delay or schedule sending email messages in Outlook - Microsoft Support

    Switching back to Classic Outlook

If the rule‑based delay is essential to your workflow, you can switch back to Classic Outlook at any time using the toggle in the top‑right corner of the app.

About the Classic Outlook reading‑pane font

Regarding your other concern you’re correct. The font used in the reading pane of Classic Outlook cannot be customized. Outlook allows font changes for composing messages, but Microsoft does not provide a supported option to change the reading‑pane font itself. This has been a long‑standing limitation and, unfortunately, there is no workaround to make the reading‑pane text more readable beyond system‑level display scaling.

    Providing feedback to Microsoft

I agree that both features  a global delay rule in the new Outlook and better font customization in Classic Outlook  would be extremely valuable. I strongly encourage you to share this feedback directly with Microsoft so it can be considered by the product team.

You can submit feedback through the Outlook (new) · Community portal and describe your request in detail. Once submitted, feel free to share the link here. I’d be happy to upvote it to help increase visibility.
