    Hi Αστέριος Βασιλειάδης,

Thanks for your post. I understand you’re experiencing static/distorted sound from your laptop speakers.

Have you already tried the Q&A Assist suggestions? In addition, please try the following.

    First, please help clarify:

    1. Does the static happen only with the built‑in laptop speakers, or also with headphones / external speakers?
    2. If you connect wired headphones, does the sound remain distorted?
    3. Does the issue occur all the time, or only after sleep, gaming, or high CPU usage?

These details will help determine whether this is driver‑related or hardware/interference‑related.

Meanwhile, try to disable all audio enhancements:

    1. Right‑click the speaker icon > select “Sound settings”
    2. Under “Output”, select your active speaker > “Audio enhancements”
    3. Set it to “Off”, then test the sound again

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Static noise in speakers can occur due to driver problems, but it is also common for it to occur due to interference and hardware issues.

    Please clarify the following:

Do you use internal speakers or external speakers?

If it is an external speaker, does it have a standard audio connector (Jack connector) or USB connector, or is it connected via Bluetooth?

Also, share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.

Static or distorted sound on a Windows 11 laptop is often related to audio drivers. Use these steps to troubleshoot and repair them.

    1. Update the audio driver
    2. In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it.
    3. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    4. Right-click your audio device (for example, Realtek, Intel SST, or similar) and select Update driver.
    5. Select Search automatically for drivers and complete the wizard.
    6. Test the sound.

If Windows does not find a newer driver, download the latest audio driver from the laptop manufacturer’s support site and install it, then test again.

    1. Reinstall the audio driver If updating does not help or the driver is corrupted, reinstall it:
    2. Open Device Manager again.
    3. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    4. Right-click your sound card or audio device and select Uninstall device.
    5. Check Attempt to remove the driver for this device (or Delete the driver software for this device), then select Uninstall.
    6. Restart the PC (save work first). Windows will reinstall the audio driver automatically.
    7. Test the sound for static.
    8. Try the generic Windows audio driver If the manufacturer driver is causing the static, switch to the generic driver:
    9. Open Device Manager.
    10. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    11. Right-click your audio device and select Update driver.
    12. Select Browse my computer for drivers.
    13. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
    14. Choose the generic audio driver shown in the list, select Next, and follow the prompts.
    15. Test audio again.
    16. Roll back the driver if the issue started after an update If the static started right after a Windows or driver update:
    17. Open Device Manager.
    18. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    19. Right-click your audio device and select Properties.
    20. Go to the Driver tab and select Roll Back Driver.
    21. Follow the prompts and select Yes to roll back.
    22. Test the sound.
    23. If nothing helps If updating, reinstalling, using the generic driver, and rolling back do not remove the static, the problem may be hardware (speakers, audio circuitry). In that case, contact the laptop manufacturer’s support for hardware diagnostics.
