Good afternoon,

I just renewed my account under my personal email address and instead of the email address for my business.

Is there someone who can help me with this ASAP please?

    Hi @Brittney Brown,

Thank you for reaching out with your question.

Based on your description, it appears that the subscription renewal was completed while you were signed in with your personal Microsoft account rather than the business account you intended to use.

In this situation, the most appropriate next step would be to contact the Microsoft Billing team by opening a support ticket. The Billing team has the appropriate tools and visibility to review subscription ownership, billing details, and advise on the available options for your scenario.

As moderators, our primary goal is to provide helpful guidance and support through general troubleshooting steps. While we don’t have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend issues, we truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations. We genuinely hope the information we share helps point you in the right direction, and we're always here to assist as much as we can within our scope.

When submitting a billing-related request, it would be helpful to clearly describe that the subscription was renewed under an unintended account. This can help ensure your request is routed to the correct team more quickly and may help reduce delays.

You may consider using the following title when creating the ticket:

“Billing support request: Subscription renewed under incorrect email account”

Note: If your account does not have administrative permissions, you’ll need to contact your IT administrator to submit a support request on your behalf.

I hope this information is useful. Thank you for taking the time to raise this question. If you need any further clarification or assistance, please feel free to leave a comment under this post.

If you find my post useful, kindly consider upvoting it. Doing so can assist others in the community who may have similar questions in finding solutions more quickly.

Thank you for your contributions to the forum.

To correct a Microsoft 365 renewal made under the wrong (personal instead of business) email, support needs to review the subscription and billing details directly.

    Use one of these options:

    1. Check the subscription status
      1. Go to your Microsoft account, Payment & billing page.
      2. Sign in with the personal email address used for the renewal.
      3. Confirm the subscription is active and note the product name, renewal date, and charge details.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support for account/billing help
      1. Go to Account & Billing Help.
      2. From there, follow the prompts to get help with Microsoft account and subscriptions.
      3. When you reach support, provide:
        • The personal email used for renewal.
        • The business email that should own the subscription.
        • Date and amount of the renewal charge.
        • Any order/transaction ID from the receipt or bank statement.
    3. If you cannot resolve it via self-service
      • Use the general Microsoft support entry point: enter your problem here, choose the Microsoft 365/Office product and a billing/subscription category, then select chat or callback if offered.

Support can review options such as moving the subscription, cancelling and re-purchasing under the correct account, or other remedies depending on eligibility and regional policies.
