I would like an agent to call me please. I have a basic Microsoft email account through Go Daddy and am interested in changing website host to WordPress or SquareSpace. I also need to upgrade my plan to 365 and purchase more storage.

    Hi @Britt

Thank you for reaching out and for providing details about your scenario.

Based on your inquiries, for clarity, Microsoft Q&A forum is unable to arrange, or initiate phone calls on your behalf. However, based on what you shared, your Microsoft email account is currently managed through GoDaddy. This type of subscription uses GoDaddy’s Microsoft 365 environment, which means upgrades, storage increases, and plan changes must be completed through GoDaddy directly.

1/ Upgrade your Microsoft 365 plan or storage

    • Since your mailbox is managed by GoDaddy, any upgrades such as expanding storage or moving to a Microsoft 365 plan, it must be purchased through your GoDaddy account.
    • Their support team can assist you with selecting the right plan and completing the upgrade.

2/ Move to a full Microsoft 365 subscription (optional)

If you prefer more control, advanced features, or a standard Microsoft 365 experience, you can migrate your email from GoDaddy to a direct Microsoft 365 subscription. This requires a planned mailbox migration, but it offers:

    • Full access to Microsoft 365 admin tools
    • Flexible plan options
    • Additional mailbox and OneDrive storage choices

    Note:

    • Website hosting changes are handled separately from Microsoft 365. Microsoft does not manage website hosting migrations.
    • Moving your website from GoDaddy to WordPress or SquareSpace will not affect your Microsoft email, as long as your email DNS records (MX, CNAME, TXT) remain unchanged. When updating your website hosting, only the web‑related DNS records need to be modified. Both WordPress and SquareSpace provide guidance on updating DNS for your new website, and your email will continue working normally.

I hope it clears your concerns and should you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.

To have a Microsoft support agent assist with account, subscription, and storage questions, use one of these supported contact paths:

    1. For Microsoft 365 for home (Personal/Family/Basic) scenarios
      1. Go to the Microsoft 365 customer support entry point: Microsoft 365 Customer Service and Support.
      2. Under the For home section, choose the option that matches the product (for example, Microsoft 365 Basic, Microsoft 365 Personal, or Microsoft 365 Family).
      3. Use the Chat or Call back option (where available) to connect with a support expert who can discuss upgrading to Microsoft 365 and storage options.
    2. For Microsoft 365 for business (if the email/tenant is managed as a business subscription)
      1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with the admin account for the tenant.
      2. Select Support > Help and support.
      3. Enter a brief description such as “Upgrade to Microsoft 365 and increase mailbox/storage; moving from GoDaddy hosting” and select Contact support.
      4. Choose a support option (chat or phone/call-back) to speak with an agent.
    3. If direct sign-in or admin center access is not available
      1. Use the general Office support contact flow: Contact Microsoft Office Support.
      2. For Microsoft 365 for home: follow the steps under Microsoft 365 for home to search help, ask the community, or use the Get Help app / browser to contact support.
      3. For Microsoft 365 for business: follow the steps under Microsoft 365 for business, including signing in with an admin account and using Support > Help and support.
    4. If a phone number is specifically required
      • For business-account issues, use the global support phone numbers link from the Office Support page for Microsoft 365 for business admins.
      • For Microsoft account or consumer issues, use the Customer service phone numbers page referenced in the Microsoft account help article and then follow the IVR prompts to reach the correct queue.

For changes to web hosting (GoDaddy → WordPress or Squarespace), the Microsoft support agent can help with the Microsoft 365 side (subscription, mailbox, and storage). Coordination of DNS and hosting changes for the website itself typically involves the current and new web hosts.
