Is there a way to mute notifications for a specific folder for the mobile app.
This folder is dedicated for sales emails from vendors not the most pressing emails on the weekend.

    Dear @Destiny,

I understand why you’d want to silence notifications for vendor sales emails.

At this time, Outlook for iOS and Android does not support muting notifications for a specific mail folder. Notification settings in the Outlook mobile app apply at the account level only, not per folder. There is currently no option to turn notifications on or off for one folder while keeping notifications enabled for others.

In this case, as workarounds, I recommend creating an Inbox rule (using Outlook on the web or the desktop app) that automatically moves vendor sales emails out of the Inbox and into the dedicated folder. Outlook mobile notifications are primarily triggered by new emails arriving in the Inbox, so you can change the settings to only receive notifications from "Focused Inbox". Therefore, messages that are automatically moved by a rule will not generate push notifications.

Alternatively, if your concern is mainly during weekends, you can also use Do Not Disturb in the Outlook mobile app to temporarily silence all notifications or enable notifications only for Favorite People so that only important senders notify you. For reference: Favorite contacts & set notifications in Outlook mobile

Go to Outlook mobile > Tap the Office icon at the top of your Inbox. > tap the gear icon in the lower left > Choose "Notifications and sounds" >

Moreover, I agree this would be a very useful feature, and I encourage you to submit feedback directly to the Outlook product team, so it can be considered for future improvements. To ensure your feedback reaches the right teams, I highly recommend submitting your feedback directly to Microsoft Ideas · Community, where Microsoft product development team can know your requirements and ideas for product improvements. If enough users raise ticket for the same idea, Microsoft may consider adding this feature in the future.

Outlook for iOS and Android does not provide per-folder notification settings. Notifications can be controlled only at the account/app level (Mail vs. Calendar, All vs. Focused vs. None, sounds on/off, and time-based muting like Do Not Disturb/Quiet Time), not for individual folders.

To reduce interruptions from less important mail on mobile, the available options are:

    1. Use Focused Inbox and notify only on Focused mail
      • In Outlook mobile, open the left navigation menu.
      • Tap Settings (gear icon) at the bottom.
      • Select Notifications.
      • Under Mail, choose Focused instead of All so notifications are only for Focused Inbox messages. Move vendor/sales messages to Other (via rules/server-side or manual training) so they do not trigger notifications.
    2. Temporarily mute all mail notifications (weekends, off-hours)
      • In Settings → Notifications (or Notifications & Sounds), use Do Not Disturb or Quiet Time to schedule periods when mail notifications are muted.
      • This can be configured for specific times (e.g., weekends) so that no mail notifications, including from that folder, appear during those periods.
    3. Turn off or change sounds for mail
      • In Settings → Notifications, toggle Mail sounds off or select different sounds so vendor mail is less disruptive, while still allowing visual notifications.

Per-folder muting is not available; achieving similar behavior requires using Focused Inbox, rules, and/or time-based muting.
