URGENT Cannot access SharePoint app - suspected licensing issue, how to access?

Hi, I bought a new computer, and I elected to have MS Business Standard installed on it. I have access to all apps, except SharePoint and Teams. I viewed the product licenses in the admin portal, and it shows SharePoint under licensing, but when I've selected All Apps, SharePoint and Teams are nowhere to be found. I've contacted Microsoft Support and they were no help (see why below). A couple things I suspect to be the problem.

  • The MS Office App is still in a trial - all of the other apps work fine, but maybe Sharepoint doesn't work in a trial?
  • Under users there is a wall of text with an error message"The execution of XXXXX Remove-DelayedDelicensingeXXXXXX failed." Under products, I see the sharepoint license, but I cannot click it or select it. I suspect there is a license issue, because when I first went to my business admin portal, it was called TBDXXX. I suspect it was set up this way when installed. The rep told me to unassign/reassign the license, but when I asked how, he said remove/add the license. Not much help. I looked up direction and since I am the only license, I am afraid doing this will effectively end my subscription.

The Microsoft rep gives one sentence responses and would not offer any details or clarification when I asked and he has stopped responding. I cannot open another support request until he closes the case, which I've asked him to do.
The support number routed me back to the support portal where I cannot open a support request.

I urgently need to create a SharePoint page for a project, and cannot do so. I figure this is going to require a reset on the backend. Does anyone know how to successful fix the licensing issue?

    Dear @COperations,

I understand how disruptive this is, especially when both Teams and SharePoint are impacted. Please know you’re not alone in this, and I’ll guide you through every step to help you as quickly as possible.

For Microsoft Teams, the first thing I need to confirm is licensing and purchase channel, as Teams availability depends on this. Please check again and let me know:

1/ The exact license name assigned to your user (for example, Microsoft 365 Business Standard vs. a version labeled “(No Teams)”)

2/ Whether your subscription was purchased directly from Microsoft or through a partner/reseller

3/ Whether you see Teams listed as enabled under Licenses and apps for your user account in the Microsoft 365 admin center. If possible, I recommend you try to unassign and reassign license. For detailed instructions, please follow: Use the Active users page to unassign licenses

Some Microsoft 365 SKUs explicitly exclude Teams, and partner‑managed subscriptions can also affect how Teams is provisioned, so this information is required to troubleshoot Teams access correctly.

Regarding SharePoint, the error you are encountering (“SharePoint not provisioning / not provided”) is not a client‑side or configuration issue. Based on the behavior and admin‑center errors, this is a backend tenant provisioning problem. These issues cannot be resolved through normal license reassignment alone and require escalation to Microsoft’s backend engineering team.

If the current support agent is unable to proceed with backend remediation, you are absolutely correct to request that the agent close the case. Therefore, I recommend you strongly ask him to close the case, so you are not blocked from further escalation. If a support case remains open without progress, it can prevent you from opening a new request.

Moreover, please try continuing to create a new support ticket from the Microsoft 365 admin center. In the problem description, clearly state that SharePoint Online is not provisioned for the tenant, and admin‑center licensing actions fail, as well as backend support intervention is required.

Note: Please understand that as a forum moderator, my role is to provide general guidance and troubleshooting support. I don’t have access to internal systems or backend tools, and I appreciate your understanding of these limits.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I'm looking forward for your reply.
