Certification Renewal

Question

I can see the renewal assessment for my PL-300 certification, but I cannot start it or select it. Please enable access or check my eligibility.

The renewal period opens 180 days before your expiry date. You cannot renew once the expiry date is reached. When does your certification expire?

Access to a certification renewal assessment cannot be enabled manually. Eligibility and access are controlled automatically by the Microsoft Learn system.

Key points based on the renewal rules:

1. Renewal window
   • Role-based and specialty certifications (such as PL-300) can be renewed only in the 6 months before their expiration date.
   • The renewal assessment is the only way to renew; there are no alternative paths and no exceptions.
   • If the certification has already expired, it cannot be renewed and must be re-earned by passing the required exam(s).
2. When the assessment is available
   • When eligible, the renewal assessment appears in the Certifications section of the Learn profile with a blue Renew button.
   • Once the renewal assessment is passed, the expiration date is updated immediately on the Learn profile.
3. What to do next
   • Verify the certification’s expiration date in the Learn profile (Profile → Certifications) and confirm it is still within the renewal window.
   • If the certification is expired, it must be re-earned by retaking the PL-300 exam.
   • If the certification is not expired and is within the 6‑month window but the assessment cannot be started, contact Microsoft Credentials Support so they can review the account and certification status.
