I wish to migrate my Laptop containing an Intel Core i5-7200u processor from Windows 10 to 11 and request that Microsoft update the webpage compatibility matrix to indicate that Intel Core i5-7200u @2.5GHz is compatable for installation of Windows 11 !! !

Microsoft should be aware that the compatibility matrix is flawed with inconsistent logic for the application of The Intel Processors and should not cover the inconsistency up with the previous smoke and mirrors concerns about the i5-7200u processor that would also apply to the Intel processor that is listed in the matrix as being compatible ! !

To date all that Microsoft has provided for their not listing the Generation 7 Intel Core i5-7200U CPU is their general concern for Security and other areas.

My March 28, 2026 and March 29, 2026 responses request specific technical issues with respect to security and other areas rather than generality statements.

Microsoft has not provided me with any published specific technical requirements beyond those listed in the Windows 11 migration requirements for computers which contained specific CPU technical requirements that the Intel Core i5-7200U complies with! !

The omission of the Intel Core i5-7200U from the List of Acceptable CPU's because Microsoft decided that Intel i5 CPU"s earlier that Generation 8 were not acceptable without providing technical issues generalities does not provide any basis for evaluating any Generation 7 and earlier CPU's for compatibility with Windows 11.

Please provide me with specific Security technical issues that the Intel Core i5-7200U CPU has that makes it not compatible with Windows 11 and also any specific technical issues that any of the other general areas that were stated as reasons that the Generation 7 Intel i5-7200U CPU was not compatible with Windows 11.

Intel Core i5-7200U complies with all of Microsoft Windows 11 stated technical compatibility requirements.

Limiting the Windows 11 migration "ACCEPTABLE" CPU list to Generation 8 CPU's places an unjustified and costly replacement requirement on existing Microsoft Windows 10 Users and should be eliminated.

Microsoft ended support of Windows 10 and designed Windows 11 with computer technical requirements identified in the Microsoft 11 Migration Compatibility requirements to migrate from Windows 10.

The Generation 8 requirement is an ARBITRARY limit to acceptable CPU's and is UNETHICAL! !

Officially, Windows 11 requires Intel 8th generation processors or newer.

The Intel Core i5-7200U is a 7th generation CPU, which is why it is not included in the supported processor list. Microsoft set this cutoff primarily based on security, reliability, and support requirements, including modern hardware-based virtualization and other platform protections.

Although Windows 11 can be installed using unofficial methods, these CPUs are not considered compatible and are not supported by Microsoft.
