Power BI read aloud

Hi.

I have an issue each time I make bigger changes or open af Power BI file, there's suddenly a read aloud happening, even though I have it turned off EVERYWHERE. - I've checked every setting every where I can in the Settings. It drives me crazy, that each time I update a data source, connect to a new one, or just open another Power BI file it start to read the loading blocks aloud. "Loading queries", "Loading datamodel" and so on. Where and how do I turn this OFF? Even after turning down the voice assistant or the text-to-speech to 0 in availability, it still seems to go through in Power BI, it is really annoying, and uninstalling does not help.

    Dear @Mehmet Erdogmus,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that you’re experiencing unexpected read‑aloud behavior in Power BI every time you make significant changes or open a Power BI file, even though you’ve disabled all text‑to‑speech and voice assistant settings across the application.

Regarding this matter, the best next step is to post this issue directly in the official Power BI Community Forum because:

    • Power BI engineers and product specialists actively monitor that forum, and they can confirm whether this is a known bug, a new regression, or something specific to the March 2026 build.
    • Other Power BI users may have encountered the same issue, and community threads often surface workarounds that haven’t been publicly documented yet.
    • Logs and environment details can be reviewed by the Power BI team more effectively there, so they can properly escalate the issue if needed.

You can submit your post here: https://community.powerbi.com

Please kindly include the details of your situation so that the Power BI team quickly pinpoint what’s triggering the read‑aloud behavior.

    Thank you for your understanding!
