Personal Vault missing

Hi i just got subscribed for 365 and downloaded it on my new HP laptop, however however i can't find the Personal vault, when i go to my account on one drive it's not listed. how do i get it

• Windows 10 (version 1903 or newer) or Windows 11
• A web browser using the latest version of Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Firefox (For best results, you may also try opening OneDrive in an InPrivate or Incognito window.)

Personal Vault is a special secure area inside OneDrive, not a separate app in Microsoft 365, and it only appears in specific ways.

Key points and checks:

1. Where Personal Vault appears
   • On the web (OneDrive.com): It shows as a Personal Vault folder/icon in the OneDrive file list.
   • On Windows 10/11 File Explorer: It appears as a shortcut in the file list, not in the left folder tree. Look in the main OneDrive folder contents for a Personal Vault shortcut.
   • On mobile apps: It appears in the folder list.
2. How to unlock or set it up
   • In OneDrive (web or app), select the Personal Vault folder/icon.
   • Follow the prompts to verify identity (text, email, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.).
   • Once verification is completed, the vault is created/unlocked and can be used.
3. If Personal Vault is not visible at all
   • In OneDrive on Windows, open OneDrive settings (cloud icon in the notification area → Help & Settings → Settings), then check the Account tab for a Personal Vault section.
   • If the shortcut is missing in File Explorer but the account supports Personal Vault, sign in to OneDrive on the web and look for the Personal Vault icon there first. Using it on the web can cause it to appear correctly on the PC.
4. Behavior and limitations to be aware of
   • Personal Vault is just a more secure place in OneDrive; normal OneDrive file type limits still apply.
   • Files in Personal Vault do not appear in search results for privacy.
   • If there is no Microsoft 365 Family or Personal subscription, only up to three files can be added to Personal Vault; with those subscriptions, files can be added up to the storage limit.

If Personal Vault still does not appear after confirming the subscription and signing into OneDrive on the web, set up and unlock Personal Vault there first, then check again in the OneDrive folder on the PC.
