Applied Skills assessment – Copilot Studio lab stuck loading

I attempted the Copilot Studio – Build Agents Applied Skills assessment through Microsoft Learn.

I was able to log into the provided environment and read the instruction emails. As instructed, I launched Copilot Studio using the provided credentials. After logging in, Copilot Studio remained in a continuous loading/spinning state and never fully opened.

I waited approximately 30 minutes with no progress and eventually had to cancel. I followed all instructions as provided. This appears to be an environment or service issue.

I am unable to access the Credentials support links as they redirect to Bing or show Page Not Found. Requesting assistance to reset or reassign the Applied Skills assessment.

    Hello,

Here is the workaround you can try.

While you're doing assessment. go to microsoft admin portal -> power platform admin portal.

In power platform, go to environments or copilot studio in the power platform.

You will see an already created agent as "Expense Agent", click on that. it will open in copilot studio.

You'll have your copilot studio opened then you can continue with the assessment.

The issue is that Copilot Studio is trying to open in the default environment, you need to switch to the correct environment but the only way to do that is to replace the environment id in the URL which you can get from the Power Platform Admin Center e.g,.

    https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com/environments/Default-0158550f-48d0-411a-a272-aaaaaaaaaaaa/home

    to https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com/environments/1141724a-7f48-e6d2-a2c9-666666666666/home

The Copilot Studio – Build Agents Applied Skills assessment runs entirely inside the hosted lab environment, so issues like an app stuck on a loading spinner are almost always lab or service related rather than something that can be fixed from the local machine once basic requirements are met.

Within the lab session itself, the only supported troubleshooting steps are those in the lab instructions pane (for example, using the Troubleshooting section, ensuring the portals are opened inside the virtual machine, and confirming sign-in with the provided credentials). Since those were followed and Copilot Studio never progressed past loading for ~30 minutes, the lab attempt effectively failed due to an environment issue.

Applied Skills labs and their resets or reassignment are handled only through Credentials support. When the normal support links don’t work, the supported path is:

    1. Confirm that the issue is not local by checking:
      • The machine meets the System Readiness requirements and passes the Lab Orientation & Connectivity Check.
      • Third‑party cookies are enabled, as required for Applied Skills assessment labs.
    2. Because the problem occurred after successful login to the lab VM and persisted despite waiting, treat it as a lab delivery issue and contact Credentials Support to request a reset or reassignment of the Applied Skills assessment. Use the official Credentials Support entry point documented for certification and Applied Skills issues.

If the usual support URLs are redirecting or returning Page Not Found, access support from a different browser or network and sign in with the same Microsoft account used for the assessment. Once a support request is opened under the Credentials Support channel, describe that the Copilot Studio app in the lab VM remained in a continuous loading state for the entire session and that the attempt had to be cancelled; support can then review the attempt and assist with a new assignment or reset.
