I passed a GitHub certification exam with a score of 877.

However, when I log into Microsoft Learn, it asks me to create a new profile and I cannot see my certification or exam history.

It seems my exam is associated with a different or duplicate profile.

Please help me locate my correct certification profile and merge it with my current account so I can access my certificate.

Details:

Score: 877

Issue: Certificate not visible / New profile prompt

To access the GitHub certification and fix the duplicate/new profile issue, follow these steps based on how Microsoft Learn profiles and certifications work:

    1. Confirm the correct Learn login account
      • Sign in to Microsoft Learn using each Microsoft account that might have been used when registering for the GitHub exam (personal MSA, work/school, or any other account).
      • After signing in, go to the Credentials area of the profile and check Certifications and Past exams for the GitHub certification.
      • If the exam confirmation email was received, use the profile link in that email and verify which account is shown as the Contact Email on that Learn profile; this often indicates the profile where the certification is stored.
    2. Check for a duplicate / new profile prompt
      • If Learn is prompting to create a new profile, that usually means the current login has no existing Learn profile yet.
      • In that case, the exam is almost certainly associated with a different Learn profile under another login account.
    3. Merge duplicate Learn profiles (if applicable)
      • Once the profile that contains the certification is identified, sign in to that profile.
      • In Account Management for that profile, choose Add login account.
      • Add the other login that is currently prompting to create a new profile.
      • If that login is associated with another Learn profile, this will trigger a profile merge:
        • All learning progress, credentials, and transcripts from both profiles are merged into a single profile.
        • All login accounts from both profiles can still be used to sign in.
        • Duplicate learning items are removed.
        • Note: The merge cannot be undone, and the merge will fail if the combined profile would exceed the limit of five work or school login accounts.
    4. Verify transcript and credentials after merge
      • After the merge completes, go to the unified Learn profile and select Transcript to confirm that the GitHub certification and exam appear in the training and credential history.
      • Also select Credentials → Certifications to confirm the certification is listed and accessible.
    5. If the certification is still missing
      • First, confirm that the credential was actually issued and that all exam requirements for that certification are met.
      • If the certification or exam still does not appear after checking all possible accounts and merging profiles where applicable, contact Microsoft Credentials Support for direct assistance with missing certifications and profile issues.
