AZ-400 Exam Passed but Certification and Share Option Not Available

I recently passed the AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions exam on March 28, 2026. The exam status shows as “Passed” in my Microsoft Learn profile under the Credentials → Certifications → Past Exams section.

However, I am unable to view or download the certification, and there is no “Share” button available in my profile.

Could you please confirm whether this is due to a processing delay or if there are additional requirements needed to receive the certification?

I would appreciate guidance on how to access the certificate and share it.

Exams are not certifications. The AZ-400 exam is only part of the requirements for the Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification. You must also hold an active Azure Administrator or Azure Developer Associate certification.

Passing AZ-400 alone does not automatically grant a full certification with share/download options. AZ-400 is the exam for the DevOps Engineer Expert certification, which has additional requirements beyond just passing the exam.

From the provided context for AZ-400/DevOps Engineer Expert:

    • The DevOps Engineer Expert certification requires both:
      • A passed AZ-400 exam, and
      • An active prerequisite certification: either Azure Developer Associate or Azure Administrator Associate.
    • If the prerequisite certification is missing or not active, the expert certification will not be issued, even though AZ-400 shows as “Passed” under Past exams.

In addition, certification processing is not always instantaneous:

    • Exam results typically appear quickly, but it can take up to 24 hours for the resulting certification to appear in the Certifications area and on the transcript.

To resolve the situation and access/share the certification:

    1. Verify prerequisite certification status
      • Sign in to the same Microsoft Learn profile where AZ-400 appears.
      • Check Credentials → Certifications to confirm that either Azure Developer Associate or Azure Administrator Associate is present and active.
      • If this prerequisite is missing or expired, the DevOps Engineer Expert certification will not be created; in that case, the next step is to earn or renew the prerequisite.
    2. Allow for processing time
      • If the prerequisite certification is active and in the same profile, wait up to 24 hours from the time the AZ-400 exam was passed for the DevOps Engineer Expert certification to be generated and added to the profile.
    3. Access and download the certificate
      Once the certification is issued:
      • Go to the Certification Dashboard (as described in the certificates/transcript guidance).
      • Use View Certificates to see and download the DevOps Engineer Expert certificate.
      • If the certification requires multiple exams or prerequisites, the certificate only becomes available after all requirements are satisfied.
    4. Share the certification or transcript
• After the certification appears, it can be shared via the Learn profile using the credential sharing options described in the sharing guidance (for example, via public profile, transcript, or downloadable certificate).
      • The transcript can be accessed and shared from the Certification Dashboard using View Transcript, then Email, PDF, or Share as needed.
    5. If the certification still does not appear
      • If the prerequisite is active, more than 24 hours have passed, and the DevOps Engineer Expert certification still does not show under Certifications (and no share/print options are available), follow the Missing Exams or Certifications steps and contact Microsoft Credentials Support for direct investigation of the profile and exam linkage.

This behavior is not just a processing delay in many cases; the missing expert certification and share option are typically due to the prerequisite certification requirement not being met or recognized in the same Learn profile.
