    Hi,

Are you referring to audio files or the Windows audio system?

    Thanks

Follow these steps to restore audio after uninstalling audio components in Windows 10:

    1. Restart Windows (often auto‑reinstalls drivers)
      1. Save any open work.
      2. Select Start > Power > Restart.
      3. After restart, test sound from the taskbar volume icon.
    2. Reinstall the audio driver via Device Manager
      1. Select Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
      2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      3. If an audio device is listed (Realtek, High Definition Audio, etc.):
        • Right‑click it and select Uninstall device.
        • Check Delete the driver software for this device if available.
        • Select Uninstall.
        • Restart the PC so Windows automatically reinstalls the audio driver.
    3. If no audio device appears or sound still does not work
      1. In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers again.
      2. Right‑click the audio device (if present) and select Update driver.
      3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.
      4. If Windows reports no newer driver, download the correct audio driver from the PC or motherboard manufacturer’s support site and install it, then restart.
    4. Try the generic Windows audio driver
      1. In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      2. Right‑click the audio device and select Update driver.
      3. Select Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
      4. Choose the High Definition Audio Device (generic driver) and finish the wizard.
      5. Restart and test sound.

If audio still shows “No audio device installed,” repeat the reinstall steps and ensure the correct driver from the device manufacturer is installed.
