How do I get my subscription restarted?

Microsoft cancelled my Microsoft 365 Basic Plan on March 22, 2026 in error. My receipt email says renewal date is January 31, 2027. How do I get my subscription back?

Use the account and billing pages to confirm the subscription status, then contact Microsoft Support to correct the cancellation.

1. Verify that the subscription really shows as canceled:
   • Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page and sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy the Microsoft 365 Basic Plan.
   • Check that the plan is listed and whether it shows Expires on or Canceled, and confirm the date shown there matches the receipt (January 31, 2027).
2. If the subscription shows as active but apps are blocked or show cancellation/renewal messages:
   • Close all Microsoft 365 apps.
   • Reopen an app (for example Word), sign in with the same Microsoft account, and let it refresh the license.
   • If a subscription notice still appears, follow the guidance in A subscription notice appears when I open a Microsoft 365 application to reactivate.
3. If the subscription shows as canceled or the expiration date is wrong:
   • Use the Contact Microsoft Support options for Microsoft 365 Family or Personal/Basics billing issues.
   • Provide the receipt that shows the renewal date of January 31, 2027 and the date it was canceled (March 22, 2026) so support can correct the account and restore access.
4. While waiting for the correction, Microsoft 365 for the web can be used in a browser via microsoft365.com to access Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive.

If the subscription was purchased or renewed through a third-party retailer (for example, app store or retail card), support for that retailer may also be required, but the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page remains the place to confirm what Microsoft currently sees for the subscription.
