How to view teams 'homepage' on Ipad app.

Hello -

I am currently having an issue regarding the teams 'homepage' feature. I have this feature set up with links, timetables, schedule, assignments etc but it seems to it is only accessible on PC.

How can my students using their ipad access the teams homepage? All they see is the regular channels.

What you’re seeing may be related to a difference between the Teams desktop/ web experience and the iPad/ mobile app, especially if the “homepage” was set up using tabs, links, or embedded content.

Microsoft does mention that tabs can behave differently on mobile devices compared to desktop/ web: Tab Functions on Mobile Devices - Teams | Microsoft Learn

They also note that mobile tab experiences need to be responsive, so some layouts or content may not appear the same way in the Teams iPad app: Plan for Teams mobile - Teams | Microsoft Learn

So if your Team homepage was built using something like:

• a Website tab
• a SharePoint page
• a custom tab/app
• or similar embedded resources

that could explain why students only see the regular channels on iPad.

A few things I’d suggest checking first:

1. Make sure the Teams app is fully updated on the affected iPads.
2. Ask one student to sign out and back in.
3. Test whether the same homepage appears correctly in:

• Teams on PC/web
• Teams on iPad

4. Check how the homepage was created:

• as a channel tab
• SharePoint page
• Class Home / Education page
• or something else

If you don’t mind, could you also confirm:

• Is this happening for all students, or only some?
• Does the homepage show correctly for everyone on desktop/ web?
• What exactly was used to build that “homepage”?

If possible, sharing:

• one screenshot of how it looks on PC
• and one of what students see on iPad

Would help narrow down whether this is expected app behavior or something more specific.

In class teams, the Home page can be viewed on iPad, but it cannot be edited there and it is not surfaced as a separate “Home page” tab in the same way as on desktop.

From the available information:

• The class Home page is created and edited only in the Teams desktop app or Teams for the web.
• On mobile (including iPad), educators and students can access and open items from the Home page, but editing is not available.
• In the Teams mobile experience for Education, the primary navigation shows channels and apps like Assignments, Class Notebook, etc.; the dedicated Home page editing surface is desktop/web-only.

So for students on iPad:

• The content surfaced on the Home page (assignments, meetings, files, links) is still accessible via the standard Teams mobile navigation (e.g., Assignments app, Files, channel posts), but
• The exact “Home page” layout/tab that appears on desktop is not available as a separate, editable page in the iPad Teams app.

To ensure students can reach the same resources on iPad, place key links and information in:

• The Assignments app (for tasks and due work),
• Files and class channels (for timetables, schedules, documents),
• Pinned posts or channel tabs that are visible in the mobile app.
