    Hi, Irfan Hashmi

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

This looks like a profile/contact-email mismatch between Microsoft Learn and the exam booking record, and sometimes it also happens because a second certification profile was created by mistake. In a few cases, the exam is still visible in the Credentials tab even when the confirmation email went to the wrong address.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

First, sign in to Microsoft Learn with the exact account you used when booking and check Credentials > Certification to see whether the SC-100 appointment is already there.

Then go to Learn > Settings > Manage email preferences and change the contact email to the correct one. After that, it is recommended that you open any exam from Browse Credentials, go up to the page where it asks for address/phone/contact email, enter the correct email, and submit so that the update is passed to Pearson VUE. You do not need to finish a new booking for that step.

Once that is done, contact Pearson VUE support and ask them to resend the confirmation email. Exam scheduling and delivery issues should go through the exam delivery partner.

To update the wrong email address on the Microsoft account and certification profile, use the Microsoft account alias and Learn profile features rather than phone or email to support.

    1. First, fix the Microsoft account sign-in email (alias):
      1. Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft: https://account.live.com/names/manage and sign in with the account currently used (for example, ******@outlook.com).
      2. Under Your info, select Add email.
      3. Add the correct email address (for example, the one that should receive exam and certification communications) and complete the verification.
      4. After it is added, select Make primary on the correct email so it becomes the primary alias.
      5. If needed, remove the wrong email address after the new one is primary.
This ensures future communications and sign-in use the correct email.
    2. If the issue is with the Microsoft Learn / Certification profile (exam records under the wrong login):
      1. Confirm that sign-in is done with the same login that was used to register and take previous exams.
      2. If certifications or exams appear under a different login, use Learn profile linking/merging as described in the Q&A example:
        • Sign in to the Learn profile that currently has the certifications.
        • Add the other login account under Settings → Login account management → Linked accounts to consolidate certifications into one profile.
      3. If certifications are missing or associated with the wrong profile and cannot be fixed by linking, contact Microsoft Credentials Support using the official channel in the documentation to get help correcting the certification profile data before scheduling SC-100.
    3. If the phone/email security info shown during sign-in is wrong or unknown:
      1. When prompted for a verification code and the listed phone/email is not recognized, choose I don't have any of these and follow the prompts to update backup security info.
      2. If sign-in cannot be completed because of incorrect security info, use the account recovery process linked from the documentation.

Do not change all security info at the same time; otherwise, the account may be restricted for 30 days, which would further delay exam registration.

If, after correcting the primary alias and Learn profile, the exam registration system still shows the wrong email in its records, raise a case with Microsoft Credentials Support so they can correct the certification profile data used for SC-100 registration.
