    Hi Kalana,

It seems like a corrupted permissions issue. Let us Take ownership of the Onedrive folder and see if that helps.

Assuming you are running an admin account, see below:

Add take ownership to the context menu, and try taking ownership of the file or folder by right-clicking.

    1. Download this Registry file. https://www.elevenforum.com/attachments/add_take_ownership_with_pause_to_context_menu-reg.83409/?hash=721a3ddf88df7e0c610e519c4ab60ba6
    2. Execute it and press yes.
    3. Restart your PC.
    4. Right-click the Onedrive folder and select Take ownership.
    5. Press yes.

See if the issue is resolved.

    Keep us posted.

Follow these steps to get AutoSave and upload to OneDrive working again:

    1. Confirm the file is in OneDrive
      • AutoSave only works for files stored in OneDrive or SharePoint.
      • If the file is on the local C: drive only, use File > Save As and choose a OneDrive folder, then turn on AutoSave.
    2. Check OneDrive storage and access
      • If OneDrive is out of storage, new files cannot be uploaded or synced. Go to the OneDrive Storage page to verify available space.
      • If storage is exceeded, free up space or purchase more; otherwise upload/edit/sync will fail.
    3. Make sure OneDrive can access the file
      • Close the document in all apps, then try again.
      • If the file is on removable media (USB, external drive), move it to a local folder that is synced with OneDrive and upload from there.
      • If OneDrive reports it “can’t find this file,” it may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Locate it and upload again.
    4. Avoid running Office as Administrator
      • If Word, Excel, or PowerPoint are started with Run as administrator (or from an elevated command prompt/installer), they cannot talk to the OneDrive client.
      • This causes the document to behave like a local file and disables AutoSave and cloud features.
      • Close all Office apps, then start them normally from the Start menu (not as administrator) and open the file from a OneDrive folder.
    5. If AutoSave is still disabled for OneDrive locations
      • Make sure Office is updated to the latest version, as older builds had known issues where AutoSave was incorrectly disabled for OneDrive/SharePoint locations.
      • If on an affected older build, either update Office or open the file directly from File > Open > OneDrive or from OneDrive in a web browser.
    6. If OneDrive files open as local files without AutoSave
      • There was a known issue for certain Office builds where OneDrive files opened as local files and AutoSave was off.
      • Close all Office apps (including Outlook and OneNote) and reopen the document. The April 2024 update resolves this behavior.

If the file was deleted while being edited and you see upload/save errors, save a copy locally, then restore the original from the OneDrive recycle bin and move content as needed.
