My account has been hacked

Some unknown email called dc***@legenmail.com** had stolen my account and I can't get it back.

After reading other's problems and seeing the responses I was wondering if there was a way to at least get the games back if I can show I bought them.

If I can get my account back, I can show ownership and the details to show it's my account.

Please respond if you can and thank you.

I wish I had better news, but when a Microsoft account is hacked, if the hackers change the associated Email, then that account is usually no longer recoverable, this forum is just a user to user account and no-one here has any account access, try using the process they provide on this link to recover a hacked account, if this process is not successful, sadly, that account cannot be recovered and any purchases you may have on the account are lost.

There is no separate way to “get the games back” or move purchases off a hacked Microsoft account. The only supported path is to recover the compromised Microsoft account itself; all Outlook.com, Xbox, Microsoft Store, and game entitlements stay tied to that account.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Use the hacked/compromised account flow
      • Go through the official guide for compromised accounts:
      • This includes:
        1. Scanning devices for malware.
        2. Changing or resetting the account password.
        3. Checking and fixing account settings (forwarding, connected accounts, automatic replies) once access is restored.
    2. If sign‑in or normal reset does not work
      • Use the Sign‑in Helper tool referenced in the hacked-account article. It will ask for the email/phone and either show self‑help or a way to contact an agent.
      • If security info was changed and normal reset fails, fill out the Microsoft account recovery form (ACSR) with as much accurate detail as possible (old passwords, devices, purchase info, etc.). Guidance is here:
    3. Understand the limits
    4. If recovery succeeds
      • After regaining access, immediately:
        • Change the password again to a strong, unique one.
        • Review security info and remove anything the attacker added.
        • Turn on two-step verification and add the Microsoft Authenticator app.
        • Check Outlook.com settings (forwarding, rules, automatic replies) for malicious changes.

If the account cannot be recovered through these official processes, the associated games and purchases cannot be restored to a different account.
