Have you contacted your NHS IT support yet?

Your NHS account is controlled by your organization, so you cannot reset the Authenticator loop yourself. Ask IT to reset your MFA or security info, then sign in again and set up the Authenticator with a new QR code. This restores access and removes the loop.

When the sign-in page only shows the authenticator code, select “Sign-in options” or “Use another method” on the same screen. If no other option appears, go to the account recovery page at https://account.live.com/acsr

and submit the form using your email. After access is restored, open Security info, remove the old authenticator, and add it again by scanning a new QR code. This resets your verification method and stops the loop.

Hello, do you still have access to your backup sign-in method like phone number or recovery email?

Go to the Microsoft account security page and select “I can’t use my authenticator app.” Choose another verification method such as SMS or email, then sign in and go to Security info. Remove the old authenticator entry and set it up again by scanning the QR code. This restores your sign-in method and stops the loop.
