Greetings,

For the past week, every time I launch MS Word (MS 365 Personal) my HP Laptop, Win-11 Home, is crashing. No BSOD, just immediately shuts down. Nothing in the Event Viewer.

I am inclined to uninstall / reinstall Word but not sure where I would pull it from, and can it be uninstalled / reinstalled as a separate component?

Thank you!

    Thanks for the reply.

It should be listed as Microsoft 365, what I meant is Microsoft 365 suite works independently of Windows.

    Good job Re:Quick Repair :)

    Hi,

Yes, Word is part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite and operates independently of Windows. Before I recommend it, please try the following:

    #1:

Press Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.

    Type winword.exe /safe

    Press Enter.

This opens Word in Safe Mode. Please check if the issue persists with that.

    #2: Reinstall

Please verify the subscription exists at https://account.microsoft.com/services page.

    Then,

    Via https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2026/02/how-to-uninstall-microsoft-office.html

Here is how to use it:

Reinstall 365 from the services page and see if the problem is resolved.

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
