I spent many hours with tech support the other day and my computer doesn't perform right anymore. The first tech did what she did and everything was still fine, while computer was restarting she left. Got another tech and said she was picking up where the last one was, she did what she did and lost and move all my files somewhere. Both techs did a system restore. Tech 3 says she can go back and take me to where the problem started. System restore 3..you get the picture. I now have 5 system restore points because no one knew what they were doing. I now have to take my computer to a

repair person. Who is going to pay for this, I did not do any thing after they screwed it up. Microsoft should be paying for this. I don't use, cloud, something one, outlook, etc but they put all these on my computer. AGAIN WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO MY COMPUTER?

    Hello Kathryn Blegen,

"There is a good chance your system is just in a broken state from repeated restores, not physically damaged"

    1. Find your files:

    Search these folders:

    C:\Users\YourName

    C:\Users\Public

    C:\Windows.old (very important after restores)

    Also try:

    1. Open File Explorer
    2. Search for a file you know by name
    3. If files were "moved", they are often just in another user profile.

    2. Fix Windows without deleting your data

This is safer than random restore points.

    1. Do an in-place repair install of Windows 11:
    2. Download Windows 11 from Microsoft website
    3. Run setup
    4. Choose: Keep personal files and apps
    5. This fixes (Broken system files / Store issues / Performance problems / does NOT wipe your data)

    3. Stop using system restore now

About the extra apps (Outlook, OneDrive, etc.)

What you are seeing is normal: Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Outlook. These come preinstalled with Windows or get re-enabled after updates

You can safely: Uninstall them Or just ignore them.

How to complain properly (this matters):

    1. Go to official Microsoft support
    1. Ask for escalation

Example: (My system was damaged after multiple guided system restores by support agents / Files were moved and system performance degraded / need escalation and case review)

    1. Request:

Case investigation / Supervisor callback / Compensation review

    Lastly,

This situation is very often fixable without a repair shop!

You can do the same fix yourself with the repair install (Step Number #2) Would help a lot.

    Regards,

    I hope this helps!
