I can not install add-ins to my Office 365 account

In attempting to install add-ins to Office 365, I get the following message after being brought to the page https://admin.cloud.microsoft/?#/Settings/IntegratedApps:

Deployment error

We are unable to initiate the deployment

It seems that my O365 account is a business account of some kind, although I am the sole user.

Please help. I am in a bind here.

    Dear @Joel Barker,

I understand that you try to install add‑ins from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (Integrated apps), you receive the message “Deployment error – We are unable to initiate the deployment.” You also noticed that your account appears to be a business account, even though you are the only user.

To better assistance, could you please confirm following information:

Was your Microsoft 365 subscription purchased directly from Microsoft, or through a third‑party provider?

Which specific add‑in are you trying to install?

Are you trying to deploy it from the Admin Center for your organization, or install it just for yourself from within an Office app?

Do you see the same error when trying to install a different add‑in?

Are you using the web version of Office, the desktop apps, or both?

Your detailed response will help us diagnose and investigate the issue more efficiently.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!

I'm looking forward for your reply. Thank you for your cooperation.

The deployment error occurs because certain Microsoft 365 subscriptions, especially those provided through GoDaddy, do not support centralized deployment of add-ins via the Microsoft 365 admin center or Exchange.

For GoDaddy-based Microsoft 365 SKUs, the following are not supported:

    1. Deployment through the Microsoft 365 admin center (Integrated apps / Add-ins page).
    2. Deployment through Exchange servers.
    3. Acquiring add-ins from Microsoft Marketplace.

When such a tenant tries to use the Integrated apps / Add-ins deployment flow, it results in deployment errors like “We are unable to initiate the deployment,” even if the account appears to be a business subscription with a single user.

If the subscription is from GoDaddy, centralized deployment cannot be used. In that case, either:

    • Use whatever add-in options GoDaddy exposes in its own admin experience, or
    • Move to a standard Microsoft 365 subscription (not provisioned via GoDaddy) if centralized add-in deployment and Marketplace acquisition are required.

If the subscription is not from GoDaddy, verify that centralized deployment is supported for the tenant and that the correct portal is being used:

    • The integrated apps portal is the recommended way to centrally deploy Office Add-ins.
    • Only add-ins that use the add-in-only manifest can be deployed from the add-in portal; add-ins using the Microsoft 365 unified manifest must be deployed via the integrated apps portal.

If all requirements are met and the tenant is not a GoDaddy SKU, open a support ticket with Microsoft and provide tenant details as described in the centralized deployment documentation.
