I want a refund and the subscription to be cancelled. The card had expired, I am not sure how the transaction went thru. We no longer have access to the email to login to the account. I have no other way of canceling it and this is the only way to contact you for support without a log in.

We have a different subscription for 365 under our new business. We are getting charged twice.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Please be advised that unless the account owner is able to access the account, subscription cancellation is not possible, and Microsoft personnel cannot retrieve this information.

Since you mentioned that you no longer have access to the account, you will need to reach out directly to your bank and request to freeze all charges from Microsoft, cancelling the subscription renewal in the process.

You may also need to request a new payment method.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

The unrecognized $106.99 charge and duplicate Microsoft 365 billing cannot be fixed through this forum; subscription and refund actions must go through Microsoft’s official billing and support channels or your bank.

Use these steps and options based on the situation described:

    1. Investigate the charge
      • Go to the guidance in How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft (linked from the “Unable to cancel” article) via the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard. This helps identify which Microsoft account and subscription the charge belongs to.
      • If the charge is tied to a Microsoft 365 subscription purchased from a third party (Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Best Buy, etc.), Microsoft cannot cancel or refund it; the retailer must handle it.
    2. Request a refund and cancel the subscription (if purchased directly from Microsoft)
      • Refunds for Microsoft subscriptions require first cancelling the subscription and then checking eligibility:
        • Follow Cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription to stop further charges.
        • Then follow How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription to check if the charge is eligible and submit the refund request.
      • Note: Not all cancellations result in a refund.
    3. If the account email is no longer accessible
      • When the account owner cannot sign in, Microsoft support and community cannot cancel the subscription because of account security requirements.
      • In similar cases, guidance is:
        • Either go through Microsoft’s formal account ownership/legal process if applicable (for example, when acting on behalf of someone else), or
        • Cancel or dispute the recurring charge directly with the bank or card issuer. The bank can block future charges and may treat this as an unauthorized or fraudulent transaction.
    4. If being charged twice for Microsoft 365
      • One subscription is under the new business; the other appears to be under an old account/card.
      • For the old/unknown account:
        • Try to identify the subscription via the billing investigation steps.
        • If unable to access the account or recover it, the practical option is to work with the bank/issuer to stop and dispute the recurring charge.
    5. When the card is expired but still charged
      • Card issuers can sometimes allow charges on replaced/updated cards for existing recurring payments.
      • This does not change the process: either cancel via the Microsoft account that owns the subscription (if it can be accessed) or have the bank block and dispute the charge if it is not authorized.
    6. Contact Microsoft billing support directly
      • For personalized help (without sharing personal data publicly), use Microsoft’s official Contact – Microsoft Support flow as shown in the Q&A examples:
        • Sign in (if possible), choose Microsoft 365 & Office, then Manage my subscription or Billing and Payment updates, and select Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
      • If sign-in is not possible and the account cannot be recovered, the bank remains the primary path to stop the charges.
