I visit the office setup webpage and follow the step to redeem my office 2024 code. everything goes well until i get to the download section. When I have the option to select 32bit or 64 bit, it takes me to a service unavailable screen no mather what I choose.

The code is valid as when I enter the key, the page accepts it and moves on to the next section which is accepting the terms and conditions.

I read on these FAQ's that if I reach the download page, regardless of whether or not it downloads, the product key would have been applied to my account. This is not the case. it is not registered in my account at all.

I am a student and I just wanna use word for note taking. subscriptions are ridiculous.

I am at a loss as what to do.

    Hi, AxelN

This usually means the setup site accepted the key format, but the redemption did not fully finish, so the license never got linked to the Microsoft account. Microsoft says the product is added to the account only when redemption completes, and after that it should show under Services & subscriptions.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Sign in again at office.com/setup with the same Microsoft account. If the key was already linked, skip setup and check account.microsoft.com/services for an Install button.

Use an InPrivate/incognito window and make sure cookies and JavaScript are allowed, since Microsoft lists blocked cookies/JavaScript as common setup problems.

Check that the key matches your country/region, because a region mismatch can stop redemption.

If the key is for Professional Plus, Standard, or another business/volume edition, it may need a different activation method. It is recommended that the seller confirm the exact license type, and if it was sold as a normal home key, ask for a refund or replacement.

If it still never appears in Services & subscriptions, contact Microsoft Support and include a screenshot of the error page.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
