Pearson VUE must update the exam profile name so that it exactly matches the name on the government ID used for Microsoft certification exams.
For Microsoft-related exams (including Azure), there are two steps to check:
- Ensure the Microsoft Certification profile name is correct and matches the government ID:
- Go to Manage your certification profile as described in the online exam requirements. The name there must exactly match the government-issued ID used at the test center or for online proctoring.
- Contact Pearson VUE support to correct the Pearson VUE account name:
- For technical issues with exam delivery or exam appointment and scheduling issues, use the Pearson VUE Microsoft support channels listed in the credentials support page:
- Pearson VUE Support for technical issues with exam delivery: use the contact options under Pearson VUE Support.
- Pearson VUE Support for exam appointment and scheduling issues: use the contact options under Pearson VUE Support for Microsoft.
- When contacting Pearson VUE, request a name correction so that the Pearson VUE profile name matches the name on the government ID and on the Microsoft Certification profile.
If the name in the Microsoft Certification profile itself needs to be updated (legal name), follow the How to contact support guidance for credentials and, if prompted, file a ticket with the Credentials Support team to update the legal name so it matches the ID.
Make sure all three match before the exam date:
- Government-issued ID
- Microsoft Certification profile name
- Pearson VUE profile name
This alignment is required because, as stated in the online exam requirements, the name on the government-issued ID must exactly match the name on the Microsoft Certification profile.
