Hi J Tucker,
Thanks for posting your question here. I understand your concern about your brightness still adjusting even after changing the Windows Displays settings and the Intel Graphics app. The cause is the adaptive brightness being enforced by the graphics driver or power-saving features. When any one of these is still enabled, it overrides the others, which is why the brightness keeps changing even after you turn it off in Settings and the Intel app.
Please check the following:
- Settings > System > Display > Brightness – Turn off “Change brightness based on content” (this is separate from auto‑brightness).
- Intel Graphics Command Center > System > Power – Make sure adaptive/display power saving is disabled for both On battery and Plugged in.
- If you have a manufacturer utility (Dell Power Manager, HP Command Center, Lenovo Vantage, etc.), disable any display power saving or adaptive brightness options there.
- Make sure HDR and Battery Saver are turned off.
If it’s still happening, could you share your PC/laptop model and Windows version so we can check if this is being enforced at the driver or BIOS level?
Reference: Adaptive brightness
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jobelle C.
