The error indicates that the systems cannot validate academic eligibility for Azure for Students.

Use the following checks and steps:

    1. Confirm eligibility for Azure for Students
      • Must be 18 or older and enrolled full‑time at an accredited, degree‑granting 2‑ or 4‑year institution.
      • Must verify academic status using an institutional email address (for example, .edu or the official domain of the college).
      • Only one Azure for Students subscription is allowed per eligible person.
If any of these conditions are not met, the benefits cannot be claimed.
    2. Verify that the correct account and email are used
      • Sign in with the Microsoft account that is associated with the university email.
      • If there is an existing Microsoft account (for example, used for Xbox or other Microsoft services), add the university email to that account:
        1. Go to the sign-in page for your Microsoft account.
        2. Sign in.
        3. Select Your infoManage how you sign in to Microsoft.
        4. Verify identity with the security code.
        5. Select Add email and add the university email address.
      • After this, retry claiming the Azure for Students benefits using the university email.
    3. If academic verification keeps failing
      • Use the alternative verification option if offered (for example, “verify in a different way”) and ensure all information is accurate before submitting.
      • If the system still reports that access cannot be validated, the institution might not be recognized by the automated verification system or the account may not meet the eligibility rules.
    4. When the subscription was already used or expired
      • Azure for Students provides $100 credit for 12 months. After credit is exhausted or 12 months pass, the subscription is canceled.
      • If still an active student at that time, the offer can be renewed when Microsoft notifies that the 12‑month period is ending.
      • If student status is no longer valid or the offer was already used and cannot be renewed, Azure for Students benefits cannot be claimed again; continued use of Azure requires upgrading to a pay‑as‑you‑go subscription.
    5. If the issue persists
      • If all eligibility conditions are met and the correct university email is configured on the Microsoft account, but the error still appears, contact support using the student support channel or Azure support from the portal to review the account and eligibility.
